BUDA – Pedernales Electric Cooperative will be hosting a “Meet a Lineworker” event from 1:30-4 p.m. at the Buda Public Library.
During the free event, kids will have the opportunity to participate in an educational day and meet some PEC lineworkers and learn how they use specialized tools and equipment to stay safe and keep the lights on, according to the co-op.
Those who attend can also participate in an Egg Drop Challenge, where kids can bring in an egg-protecting contraption made at home using recycled materials to see if an egg will survive a drop from a PEC truck. Eggs will be provided by PEC on-site.
The event is being put on by PEC’s Camp Save-a-Watt, a virtual summer camp developed and put on by PEC for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
