The Hays CISD Education Foundation hosted the grand opening of its Teacher Closet on Saturday, July 26. Located at the foundation’s office — 21003 IH-35, Kyle — the closet offers Hays CISD teachers the opportunity to shop for new supplies at no cost, up to $100 total value. According to the foundation, 72 teachers were served at the grand opening, totaling $7,238.65 worth of supplies given. Although the grand opening was first-come, first-serve, teachers will soon be able to sign up online for a time slot to shop. Some of the items available include pencils, paper, organizers, laminators and classroom decorations. For more information on the Teacher Closet or the foundation, visit www.haysef.com
