DRIPPING SPRINGS — A Target could be coming to Dripping Springs, according to a permit application filed through Hays County.
Property Commerce Commercial, a Houston-based developer, submitted a site preparation and foundation permit to Hays County Aug. 7. According to the permit application, the developer is looking to build a Target and an 18,497 square-foot retail building at 13550 W. U.S. 290 in Dripping Springs; the scope of work is to construct paving, utility and related improvements for a commercial center.
This would bring a Target store local to the area, as the closest locations are in Bee Cave and Austin.
Also in the permit application, it states that the space would be under Hays County ESD No. 6’s jurisdiction, along with the West Travis County Public Utility Agency.
On Aug. 26, the permit was placed on hold, which means that it is currently not in the review queue “most likely due to missing information or because another permit must be approved first,” stated Hays County’s permitting website. The site preparation and foundation inspection is also listed as missing.
The News-Dispatch reached out to Property Commerce Commercial and, as of press time, did not receive any comment or additional information.
