DRIPPING SPRINGS — Dripping Springs Elite Real Estate Professionals (DS Elite) announced a new community partnership with PAWS Shelter of Central Texas, a local no-kill animal shelter dedicated to rescuing and rehoming pets in need.
Through this initiative, DS Elite will help shine a light on long-stay dogs and cats at PAWS’ Dripping Springs campus, stated a news release. Statistics show that the longer an animal stays in a shelter — no matter how loving the environment — the harder it becomes for them to be adopted. Extended time in a shelter can lead to stress, anxiety and a decline in overall well-being for these pets, the release continued.
“Dripping Springs Elite believes in using our platform to give back to the community, and PAWS’ mission deeply resonates with us,” said Samantha LeBlanc, DS Elite Charitable Giving/Community Committee member. “Every pet deserves a second chance, and by raising awareness, we hope to help more families open their hearts and homes.”
Throughout the month of October, DS Elite will highlight adoptable long-stay pets from PAWS on social media, encouraging the community to step in — whether through adoption, fostering or donations.
“… Speaking of donations — PAWS needs Purina dog/cat food, kitty litter and bleach, so we are also encouraging the community to bring donations to our Annual Community-Wide Shred Day, that is Thursday, Oct. 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Keller Williams parking lot behind McDonalds in downtown Dripping Springs,” LeBlanc added.
Also, as part of this initiative, Dripping Springs Elite will donate $1,000 to PAWS of Central Texas in November to support the shelter’s operational costs. This contribution will help provide food, medical care and safe housing for animals, while they wait for their forever homes. By pairing financial support with increased community awareness, DS Elite hopes to make a meaningful impact in the lives of pets and the families who welcome them.
