Louise Jaap Spiller, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 17, 2025. Louise was the third of seven children born in Jackson Mississippi to Charles and Virginia Jaap on January 19, 1937.
After graduating from Ashland High School, she moved to Houston to live with her Aunt Margaret, where she began working at MD Anderson. It was through her aunt that she met the love of her life, Tom Spiller. They married in 1956 and made Buda, Texas, their home, where they raised their family with faith and love.
Louise served as Buda’s city secretary, at one time the city’s only paid employee, and later worked alongside her husband and son as secretary and bookkeeper for their family business, Spiller Pest Control. A devoted member of St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church in Kyle, she was active in the Ladies Altar Society and volunteered faithfully in her parish community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; sons, Lee and Tommy; parents, Charles and Virginia Jaap; and brothers, Charlie, Jimmy, and Billy.
She is survived by her children James (Paula), Bill (Diana), Joe (Reese), Mary, Richard (Rebecca Hoff), and daughter-in-law LeRee, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will continue her legacy of love.
Louise’s life was defined by quiet strength, deep faith, and selfless kindness. She was the heart of her family and a light to all who knew her.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 30 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle Texas with a Rosary to follow. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, October 31 at 10 AM at Saint Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church, 801 Burleson, Kyle, TX. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, 10739 Twin Creek Rd, Manchaca, TX. A reception will be held afterward at St. Anthony’s Hall in Kyle.
