KYLE — A Lockhart man is facing multiple charges after the Kyle Police Department located narcotics and a stolen handgun while investigating a suspicious vehicle early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 1:20 a.m. Nov. 12, officers patrolling the 20,000 block of IH-35 located a vehicle belonging to 42-year-old Joshua Gillum.
During the investigation, officers observed a stolen handgun and a distributable amount of crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Additional items indicative of drug use and distribution, including a digital scale, baggies and pipes, were also found.
Gillum attempted to flee on foot from officers during questioning. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:
- Theft of a firearm
- Manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance
- Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon
- Unlawful carrying of a weapon
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Possession of marijuana
- Evading arrest
