CAN WE SURVIVE WITHOUT LOVE?

The answer is “yes”. Yes, we can SURVIVE, if that is our goal —- survival.

But isn't there more to life than just survival? What about how you feel when you do something nice for your family or your neighbors —-- the feeling you get when you see the smile on their faces or open a thank-you  card of appreciation.

Sometimes it’s just the feeling you get knowing you have made another person’s day brighter with your smile or a few words of encouragement.

Our President campaigned on the slogan “Make America Great Again”. (Personally I thought America was already great.) Now I’m wondering, after 13 months in office, what he has done to “Make America Great Again”.

I think we would all be in awe if we would suddenly get a TV visit from our illustrious Leader with the following messageL

“Here are a few ways I plan to “Make America Great Again”:

* More Windmills - on land and water

* More Solar Power - anywhere and everywhere

* All Vaccinations to be free Nation Wide. Children and Adults. All covered by Federal Funding.

America is to take a more active part in the United Nations. (After all, the Building is near-by and our idea in the first place.

We will no longer supply arms to countries who are committing genocide.

We do not bomb countries who have Nuclear material unless we get rid of OUR Nuclear material first.”

These are just a few ways our present Leader in Washington could show he really cares for the people of America and is attempting to KEEP our Country great.

Love and caring is the word, not just in February but every day. Only then will life be more than just survival and America truly great.

Are Our Water Rates Justifiable?

U.S.A. Today recently had an article on the ever growing number of retirees who thought they had enough to live on for the rest of their lives, but are now having to return to the workforce. And the issue of the rising cost of just living is not only a problem for retirees, but the younger generation also.

Looking at the inflationary costs of things has brought me to question what has happened here in Kyle with our water rates.

Since I live just outside the city limits I expect to pay somewhat more for my water and wastewater. But I have found that comparably situated residents of Buda and San Marcos pay significantly lower rates. Water rates in Kyle were already high before the large increase we all experienced recently. It makes me wonder if we are being asked to pay for all the water and wastewater connections to the many housing editions being built?

If so, I think that cost should be shouldered by the home builders and not us.
