Dripping Springs High School senior wrestler Jackson Shipley, above, claims his second consecutive state championship at the UIL Wrestling State Tournament in Houston Saturday, Feb. 14. Competing in the 120-pound weight class, Jackson avenged his only loss of the season with a 5-3 semifinal victory over Allen High School’s Oliver Pulliam. He then dominated the championship match, earning a 19-3 win over James Murray of Lake Travis to secure the title. With the victory, Jackson became just the third Tiger wrestler to win multiple state championships, joining Luke Hodsden (2015 and 2016) and Chase Warden (2019 and 2020).
