Our hearts are heavy but smiling with great memories as we announce the passing of Leonard ‘Yogi” Moore of Buda, Texas on February 14, 2026.
Yogi was born on December 18, 1954, in Sinton, Texas, and grew up in the Gregory Portland area, where his charm, humor, and unforgettable personality quickly became his signature.
He graduated from Gregory Portland High School, remembered for his big smile, his dancing, and his ability to make friends everywhere he went.
Yogi married the love of his life, Lisa, 40 years ago. His great sense of humor, laughter, and kindness made a perfect partnership with Lisa. His passion for family, friends, animals, music, cooking Barbecue and a thousand other creative things made him one in a million.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jean Moore and Jerry Moore. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Moore; his son Jared Daniel Moore and daughter in law Heather Moore; his grandchildren who affectionately called him Papa Stash”, Paxton “Cash” Moore and Roxsen “Paycheck” Moore; siblings Ricky Moore, Ann Isaacks and her husband Michael Isaacks, Lee Moore and his wife Cindy Moore, Barbara Sewell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews who loved him dearly.
Yogi, with Lisa by his side, remained courageous as he faced significant health issues in his final years. On Yogis’ final day, his Pastor asked him if he knew the Lord as his Savior, in true Yogi style, he gave a thumbs up and smiled.
The family invites you to a Celebration of Life for Yogi on Saturday March 28, 2026 at 1:00 pm., Hays Hills Baptist Church, 1401 N Farm to Market Rd 1626, Buda TX.
