DRIPPING SPRINGS — The first-place Dripping Springs High School Lady Tigers softball team (9–0 district) hosted the Bowie High School Bulldogs in a key district matchup, delivering a 10–3 victory.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to an early lead, scoring four runs in the first inning and never looked back. The game featured strong performances on both offense and defense, as Dripping Springs controlled the tempo throughout the contest.
Lady Tiger pitcher Sadie Bradford earned the win with a complete-game performance against a talented Bowie lineup. Bradford recorded seven strikeouts and three walks, while keeping the Bulldogs’ offense in check.
Following the game, head coach Wade Womack emphasized the intensity of the long-standing rivalry.
“The Bulldogs are a tough team. They’re rivals and playing them is always a great game. The players grew up together and when they face each other, all they want to do is beat each other,” Womack said.
The Lady Tigers will return to action at 7 p.m. April 14 at Tiger Stadium in a nondistrict matchup against Georgetown High School.
