Patriots’ Hall of Dripping Springs hosted a Memorial Day Murph, Ruck and Rock event Monday, May 25. The event, which combined various activities in tribute to fallen service members and an opportunity for veterans and community members to gather together, was the first of its kind for the nonprofit.

U.S. Army Special Forces veteran Mike Gorby, center, talks with a participant prior to the ruck. The ruck portion of the event was something Gorby started years ago, in honor of a fallen brother in arms. Last year, after feeling as if he could no longer manage the event alone, he donated the framework to Patriots’ Hall.
