Cub Scout Pack 812 and Family Troop 145 hosted a flag retirement ceremony at Heroes Memorial Park in Kyle Tuesday, June 30. This ceremony provides local youth the opportunity to honor the nation’s flag through the proper retirement of worn and tattered American flags, while learning about citizenship, service and respect for national traditions.
The event included multiple educational opportunities, such as how to fold a flag.
A particularly large flag required cutting prior to retirement.
