Following widespread rain and flooding throughout Central Texas, Five Mile Dam in San Marcos was temporarily flowing during the week of July 13-17. According to the National Weather Service, 4 to 6 inches of rain was measured in and around Kyle over the week. As of Monday, July 20, the water receded slightly, but that did not stop locals from taking the opportunity to play in the water.
