BUDA — As of 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, the boil water notice for western Buda neighborhoods has been rescinded.
Following two-and-a-half days of a boil water notice for the neighborhoods of Summer Pointe, Whispering Hollow, Elm Grove, White Oak Preserve and Stonewood Commons, the city of Buda announced Wednesday that the water has been tested and is now considered safe for human consumption.
As previously reported by the Hays Free Press, a line break on FM 1626 near Oyster Creek Drive caused water pressure to drop below the required 20 pounds per square inch (PSI) on Monday morning.
The line was repaired by approximately 7:30 p.m. the same day; however, the boil water notice was in effect until laboratory test results confirmed that the “necessary corrective actions” were taken to restore the quality of the water.
