DRIPPING SPRINGS — Following the death of a Lake Travis High School varsity football player, the Dripping Springs High School football game against the Cavaliers, which was scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, has been canceled.
“Our entire athletic department, coaching staff, administration and student-athletes extend our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers to the student’s family, friends, the team and the entire Lake Travis community during this unimaginably difficult time,” Dripping Springs ISD officials said in a statement.
The Tigers will open the 2026 season Friday, Sept. 4, at Tiger Stadium against Harlan High School.
