DRIPPING SPRINGS — The Dripping Springs Lady Tigers volleyball team battled through five sets to earn a 3-2 victory over Stony Point High School Tuesday, Aug. 18, in a hard-fought non-district volleyball match.
The two teams battled back and forth throughout the evening, eventually finding themselves tied at two sets apiece and forcing a decisive fifth set.
Backed by an energetic hometown crowd, the Lady Tigers responded when it mattered most and made the plays they needed down the stretch and closed out Stony Point 15-11 in the fifth set to secure the 3-2 victory.
The five-set win provided another early-season test for Dripping Springs High School, as the Lady Tigers continued to build momentum during their non-district schedule. They went on to have a strong showing at the Fraulein Volleyfest last weekend, finishing the tournament with a 6-3 record.
Senior outside hitter Madison Sestak earned all-tournament honors for her performance during the three-day tournament.
The Lady Tigers return home Sept. 1 to host Westlake High School at 6:30 p.m. at DSHS.
