DRIPPING SPRINGS — City of Dripping Springs residents and commercial businesses will see new utility rates on their September bill.
This follows Dripping Springs City Council unanimously approving water and wastewater adjustments at its Tuesday, May 19, meeting. The process to review the rates — which is the first time they have been adjusted since 2022 — began in fiscal year 2025, when the city contracted with HDR to conduct a utility rate study, as previously reported by the News-Dispatch.
Ultimately, the approved structure includes increases to both the base and usage rates, where there will be a very slight increase in the water rates and a more significant adjustment to the wastewater rates. Most residential customers can expect to see an increase of approximately $20 to $30 per month, depending on usage, while commercial users will see increases based on their level of service, with impacts varying by size and demand.
Rates will be analyzed each year, but the city anticipates additional increases each year through fiscal year 2032.
Customers can expect to see the new rates reflected on their September utility bill, which will be sent the week of Sept. 7.
