Beverly Dianne Cooper, lovingly known as Dianne, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, in Driftwood, Texas, with her devoted husband, Darrell, by her side. She was 82 years old.
Dianne was born on March 9, 1944, in Oceanside, California, to B.B. “Boots” Quick and Doris Quick, while her father was stationed there with the United States Marine Corps. She grew up in San Marcos, Texas, before eventually moving with her family to South Austin.
On June 1, 1962, Dianne married the love of her life, Darrell Cooper, at Manchaca Methodist Church in Manchaca, Texas. Together, they built a life centered around family and shared more than 64 years of marriage.
Dianne and Darrell were blessed with one son, Keith Cooper, who preceded her in death in May 2020. Keith married Danielle, who moved to Texas from Australia and quickly became a beloved part of the Cooper family and their extended Texas family.
Throughout her career, Dianne worked for the Internal Revenue Service and Time Warner Cable, where she made many lifelong friends. She was also a talented baker and, for a time, owned her own small bakery. Dianne became especially known for her beautiful birthday and wedding cakes, creating cakes that became part of many families’ special memories.
Dianne was a member of Buda Methodist Church, where she was actively involved until her health prevented her from participating as she once had.
Family was incredibly important to Dianne. She loved supporting her nieces and nephews and took pride in being part of their lives. Those who knew her knew exactly who she was—feisty, stubborn, caring, and incredibly strong. Dianne loved deeply, although she sometimes had her own unique way of showing it. You always knew where you stood with her, and those fortunate enough to be loved by Dianne knew that beneath her strong exterior was a woman who cared tremendously for her family.
Dianne is survived by her husband, Darrell Cooper; her daughter-in-law, Danielle Cooper; her sister, Pam Huckaby of Buda; sister in law, Margaret Goebler and her husband, Tim; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, B.B. “Boots” and Doris Quick; her brother, Monty Quick; and her beloved son, Keith Cooper.
A Celebration of Life honoring Dianne will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Buda Methodist Church. Refreshments will be served immediately following the celebration, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Dianne’s honor to the American Cancer Society. Donations may be made through the American Cancer Society’s memorial giving page.
Dianne leaves behind a lifetime of memories, countless celebrations made sweeter by her cakes, and a family who will forever remember her strength, her feisty spirit, and the unmistakable way she loved them.
