SAN MARCOS — The League of Women Voters of Hays County is hosting a series of non-partisan candidate meet-and-greets across the county. Voters can talk with candidates one-on-one, ask questions and share concerns about the issues that matter in their communities.
"The format of our meet-and-greets encourages voters to come and have informal conversations with the candidates," said Laurel ODonnell, president of the LWV of Hays County. "Find out the candidates' platforms, express your concerns [and] get your questions answered. Be an informed voter."

According to an LWV press release, local races often shape daily life more directly than any others, from city services and local courts to roads, growth and groundwater. The meet-and-greets are a chance to hear candidates in their own words, compare their priorities and ask about the issues that matter to the individual. Voters are welcome to attend any event, including those outside their own city, to meet candidates for countywide and district races.
The League is nonpartisan, neither supporting nor opposing political candidates or political parties at any level of government. It works on vital issues of concern to its members and the public.
