DRIPPING SPRINGS — The Oct. 6 Dripping Springs City Council meeting concluded with a heated discussion regarding a proposed ethics policy.
According to city attorney Aniz Alani, the city’s current ethics policy “almost entirely” replicates state law. However, the item was brought forth in order for the dais to decide if it would like to augment the policy.
The proposed policy would add a local layer to the mandatory state policy, but would keep the state-level requirements as a starting point and would apply to city council and all bodies, including advisory members of those bodies.
