DRIPPING SPRINGS — It’s time to clear out the filing cabinets, tackle those stacks of old paperwork and safely dispose of documents that are no longer needed. Dripping Springs Elite Real Estate Professionals (DS Elite) will host its annual free Community-Wide Shred Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.
The free event is open to Dripping Springs-area residents and local businesses and will provide secure, on-site shredding for old tax documents, financial records, outdated files and other paperwork containing personal or sensitive information.
A professional shred truck will be on site at the Keller Williams parking lot behind McDonald’s in downtown Dripping Springs, 333 E. US 290, Building 3, Suite 300.
Community members are welcome to bring any amount. However, organizers encourage participants to arrive early, as shredding will be available only until the truck reaches capacity.
“Shred Day is one of those simple ways we can provide something genuinely useful to our neighbors and local businesses,” said Michelle Lewis, DS Elite administrator. “We live here, we work here and we believe being part of this community means finding meaningful ways to give back. We love seeing people come out each year and take advantage of this free service.”
In addition to helping clear household and business clutter, securely shredding documents can help protect sensitive personal, financial and business information that should not simply be placed in the trash or recycling bin.
