WIMBERLEY — For nearly 30 years, Angels for Elders has been a familiar name to families in Wimberley and throughout the surrounding Hays County community. Now, the longtime private-pay home care agency is joining Blue Water Homecare, Inc., another locally-owned agency serving families across Central Texas and the Hill Country.

Beginning Oct. 25, Angels for Elders clients will receive care under the Blue Water Homecare name. For the families involved, very little changes will occur day to day, said a news release. Angels for Elders caregivers are joining Blue Water Homecare alongside the clients they already know and care for and the agency's local phone number, 512-847-7445, will remain the same.

Angels for Elders founders Ann Guilford, RN, and Kima Coltharp, RN, will help introduce clients and caregivers to the Blue Water team during the transition. Denise Salinas, executive director of Blue Water Homecare, will oversee care going forward.

“We built Angels for Elders on the idea that people should be cared for at home by someone who knows them,” said Guilford. “When we started looking at what came next, we wanted a partner who runs things the same way. Blue Water is nurse-led and local and they understood right away that our caregivers are the heart of this.”

That continuity was important to Blue Water Homecare, too.

“Ann and Kima have earned a lot of trust in Wimberley and we don’t take that lightly,” said Jennifer Prescott, RN, MSN, owner and [chief operations officer] of Blue Water Homecare. “Our goal is to keep the people and relationships that families already know, while giving them the support of a larger care team behind the scenes. The families who have trusted Angels for Elders over the years shouldn’t notice anything different except more help when they need it.”

Families with questions can call 512-847-7445 or Blue Water Homecare’s main office at 512-872-2955.
