There is so much I would be totally in the dark about if not for the small town papers. For example The News-Dispatch, alias Hays Free Press, although printed in Kyle, gives tons of information about my Dripping Springs Community along with Wimberley, San Marcos and surrounding areas.
Besides covering High School team sports, The Dispatch also covers High School Graduation events in a separate issue and this October the Dispatch covered the local candidates for Hays County positions along with photos and brief info from each candidate which made voting a more informative experience.
There are so many events in Dripping Springs and the surrounding area of Hays County that I would not be aware of without the information and photos in my local News-Dispatch.
To keep informed on the World Wide political scene I have found The Nation and Mother Jones most informative.
