Authorities are not releasing the name of a Buda woman apparently killed in a house fire early Friday, but promise a full investigation.
The Buda Fire Department and EMS responded around 6:20 a.m. to the fire in the 400 block of Overlook Mountain West. Arriving fire crews found the home fully engulfed with flames and smoke visible from all sides and the roof, according to a press release.
Fire Chief Clay Huckaby said the woman was found unresponsive during an interior search. “She was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased,” Huckaby said.
The fire was contained at approximately 8:30 a.m. with assistance from Kyle and Manchaca firefighters.
The origin of the fire is being investigated by the Hays County Fire Marshal’s office in conjunction with the BFD.
