A 67-year-old Dripping Springs resident was killed in a two-car collision on RR 12 in Hays County Friday.
Don Olan Young, Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene about 3.4 miles north of Dripping Springs, according to DPS Sgt. Deon Cockrell.
Young was at the wheel of a Chevrolet Espressway that was traveling southbound on RR 12. The vehicle was hit by a 2004 Jeep Liberty that had reportedly “traveled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected to the left and drove into the wrong side of the roadway,” Cockrell said, before striking the Chevrolet.
The driver of the Jeep, whom he did not identify, was injured and taken to a hospital.
The crash occurred at 8:20 a.m.
