2 more Hays free testing sites announced

Staff report

Two more sites where residents can get tested for COVID-19 for free have been announced by Hays County.

Testing will be available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 27 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 28 through Wednesday, July 1 at the Hays CISD’s Performing Arts Center, 979 Kohler’’s Crossing in Kyle; and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 12 though Thursday, July 16 at San Marcos High School, 2601 Rattler Road, San Marcos.

Testing is available for everyone five years old or older, and you do not need to be a resident of Hays County to be tested. People do not need to be showing symptoms to receive a test but tests will be conducted on a walk-up basis, so people should be prepared to leave their vehicles.

The testing is a continuation of that done earlier this month by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and the National Guard.

Results will be sent directly to the individuals tested. On average, results are available within seven days.
