One person is in custody and two are being sought following shots fired at a Hays County deputy Saturday night.
The incident occurred after the deputy attempted a traffic stop of a 1999 red Toyota passenger car in the 700 block old Fitzhugh Road around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
The vehicle stopped briefly before fleeing. During a pursuit, a passenger in the Toyota fired “multiple shots” in the direction of the pursuing deputy.
Deputies pursued the vehicle until it wrecked near the intersection of US Hwy. 281 and Hwy. 290 in Blanco County. One occupant was taken into custody at this location while two suspects fled on foot. An active search is being conducted by several law enforcement agencies on scene.
