Texas is one of a few states that maintains a system of state-wide partisan judicial selection. A fair judicial system requires informed voters, yet very few voters know how this judicial system actually works. These courts are important to each resident’s everyday life, making the selection of judicial candidates worthy of thoughtful consideration.
Attendees will learn about the 16 statewide candidates ranging from the Texas Supreme Court to the Texas Courts of Criminal Appeals.
This forum will be an informative session that explains the roles of the various Judicial offices in Texas.
The event is free and open to the public.
Early voting for the March 3 Democratic and Republican primaries will begin Tuesday, Feb. 18.
