A suspect has been arrested in the Christmas Day robbery of the Corner Store in Dripping Springs.

John Robert Garrison, 39, of Wimberley was arrested without incident Jan. 7 at a hotel in North Austin by the Austin Police Department Robbery Unit and agents from the Lonestar Fugitive Task Force.

Garrison is accused of being the man who entered the store located at Sawyer Ranch Road and U.S. 290 at approximately 2:05 a.m., displaying a handgun and demanding money.

Online records show he had been released from Hays County Jail Dec. 17 after his arrest by the Kyle Police Department for driving with an invalid license and prior convictions.

In a press release, Deputy Mark Andrews of the Hays County Sheriff’s Office said Garrison had multiple outstanding warrants, including two for aggravated robbery, with the Austin Police Department and a warrant for a parole violation from the Texas Board of Pardons and Parole.

Garrison is currently in Travis County Jail.
