Eight new cases of COVID-19 were added to the county’s toll on Thursday and five more people have recovered, the latest numbers indicate.
The new cases boost Hays County’s total confirmed cases to 117, 68 of which are active. Test results are pending in 19 cases and 754 people have tested negative. No additional deaths have been reported and the county’s total remains one.
Ten people have been hospitalized and two remained so as of 4 p.m. April 16
Three people who have tested positive or 80 years old or older and five are between 70 and 79. The largest number of cases, 32, have occurred in people 50 to 59 ears old.
Kyle continues to have the highest number of positives at 50 case followed by San Marcos at 32 and Buda at 18. One case each has now been confirmed in Driftwood and Niederwald. Wimberley has 5 and Dripping Springs, 4.
