A fire that damaged a large mulcher along the route of the Kinder Morgan Permian Highway Pipeline in Blanco County is under investigation.
The Blanco Volunteer Fire Department said firefighters were alerted to the fire at 1:55 a.m. Friday and that a fire crew of 15 personnel brought it under control in about two hours. It did not spread from the machine itself.
The cause is unknown and is under investigation because of a request to do so, the Blanco VFD said.
Kinder Morgan, in a statement, said it is "working with the Fire Marshal as they conduct an investigation into the cause of the incident," but did not comment on whether they requested the problem. The company also said the site was "secured" after fire personnel left the scene.
