The Texas Department of Transportation will temporarily close the southbound I-35 mainlanes in San Marcos this weekend as crews set 15 bridge beams and install deck panels on the future overpass at Posey Road, weather permitting.
Starting on Friday night, the southbound I-35 mainlanes at Posey Road will be reduced to one lane at 8:30 p.m. to prepare for the full closure. At 10:30 p.m. each night, the southbound I-35 mainlanes will fully close. Traffic will detour to the southbound I-35 frontage road via the Posey Road exit (#199) and will re-enter the I-35 mainlanes at the entrance ramp south of York Creek Road. All lanes will reopen to traffic as work is completed, but no later than 8 a.m. each morning. (See attached map.)
Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the upcoming closures. TxDOT asks the traveling public to be patient and remain aware when traveling through the work zone. To learn more about this project, visit My35Construction.org.
