Residents near Belterra were put on alert Saturday night after a man stopped by the Texas Highway Patrol took off on foot.
According to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, Ricardo Rodriguez, whose age was not available, was the object of an air and ground search that began shortly before 11 p.m. and ended about an hour later after Rodriguez was apprehended.
Deputy Stephen Traeger said he was charged with evading arrest with a vehicle, fleeing a police officer and theft of property (on a warrant out of Travis County.)
He is being held in Travis County Jail on bonds totaling $17,500.
