The burn ban has been lifted for Hays County, at least through the Labor Day weekend.
According to Fire Marshal Nathan Mendenhall, 90% of the county received more than an inch of rain over the past 48 hours and 50% of the county got two inches or more.
Should conditions then dictate, Mendenhall could ask county commissioners to reinstate the ban as soon as Tuesday.
