SAN MARCOS — More than a week into an active investigation, authorities say they have nothing more to tell the public about the discovery of an adult male and two young girls outside a residence in far north San Marcos.
The bodies, at least one of which had a gunshot wound, were found outside a residence on Boulder Bluff where someone had call to report a child custody issue on Thursday, Aug. 27. Boulder Bluff is located off Hilliard Road and is not in the San Marcos city limits.
Lt. Dennis Gutierrez of the Hays County Sheriff’s Office said a caller from the home told dispatchers her boyfriend had taken her daughters aged 6 months and 2 years.
Deputies were speaking with her when someone in the household informed them of a body outside. Gutierrez said family members that were in the house were taken to a “secure location” at that point. He said the adult male had a gunshot wound and the bodies of the two young children were nearby.
Justice of the Peace Maggie Moreno pronounced all three dead and ordered autopsies.
Gutierrez said on Friday, Sept. 3 that detectives were still conducting interviews relating to the case.
