Hays County authorized a controlled burn for Thursday, Aug. 27 on acreage along E. U.S. 290 in Dripping Springs. It is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
The burn will be performed by Texas Parks and Wildlife and was vetted and permitted through the office of Fire Marshal Nathan Mendenhall. “We wanted people to know they may see smoke and flames but to be aware that the burn is permissible,” he said.
Commissioners also approved a new burn ban with exceptions for firefighter training, welding, harvesting and prescribed burns.
