Twenty-point outbursts in both the first and third frames proved beneficial for the Hays girls basketball team Nov. 23 as it cruised to a 63-19 win over the Johnson Jaguars in the first varsity level meeting between the two programs. Hays’ win, mixed with a victory over Elgin Nov. 24, pushed the team’s win streak to four games. Meanwhile, Johnson, which started the season 4-0 and cracked the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s top 25 girls basketball poll, has now dropped its last four contests.
