Staff Report

GARLAND – Wimberley Texan dreams of a volleyball state title were dashed Saturday as the team’s quest for the program’s seventh gold medal in the last 25 years fell just one win short.

Fourteen kills from Jentry Lamirand and ten kills by Trinity Vinzant were more than enough for the Decatur Lady Eagles (31-1) to score a 25-13, 25-12, 25-19 win over the Wimberley Texans in the Conference 4A state final at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.
