The Budafest Holiday Tour will bring residents nine days of holiday festivities; the city is combining virtual and in-person activities for friends and family to join in.
Buda teamed up with Inspired Minds and the Buda Public Library to provide a week of free art classes. This activity can be done in-person, indoors and outdoors, or online. Space is based on a first-come, first-serve basis, so people are encouraged to register online. Art classes begin on Friday, Dec. 4.
In this cold and festive season, Doc’s Drive In Theatre will be putting on holiday classic movies with endless complimentary popcorn. Tickets have been gifted to guests, courtesy of the city of Buda. To reserve a ticket and find movie times, visit this link.
Since Christmas is nearing, there will be two options to see Santa. The first is through a 10-minute virtual call on Zoom. Use this link to reserve a slot for the call. The second option for seeing Santa is on his drive around Buda neighborhoods. Santa’s drive will begin on Dec. 4, starting at 7 p.m. To find out more about Santa’s route, visit this link.
Buda is calling on the community to participate in a lights celebration. They will create a map for people to follow to visit homes that are lit up for the holidays. People can register their homes as Official Budafest Wonder through this link.
To give people more chances to watch the lights, the city will light up the sky with 12-minute fireworks shows. These shows will launch from City Park and Buda Sportsplex so people can watch from their homes or from Downtown Buda. Fireworks will pop this Friday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. For more information, follow the link.
What would the holidays be without food? Starting Friday, Dec. 4 through Saturday, Dec. 12, participating restaurants will serve a secret menu for Budafest week. These restaurants will partake in the temporary menu options.
Budafest Holiday Shopping week will also be from Friday Dec. 4 through Saturday Dec. 12. When people purchase an item from the holiday gift guide featuring Buda’s local stores, they will receive a free commemorative Budafest Holiday Tour 2020 enamel pin. The gift guide and a preview of the pin are in this link.
