Two Kyle residents, a woman in her 60s and a man in his 50s, are the 23rd and 24th Hays County residents to die from COVID-19, the county said Friday, Both were hospitalized at the time of their deaths.
The report also included 42 new cases of the virus, two people being discharged from the hospital and 55 more deemed recovered. Twenty people are currently hospitalized out of 93 total hospitalizations in Hays County and elsewhere. The total number of positive cases is 4,133, with 2,977 of those considered active.
The most cases continue to be in the 20 to 29 year age group. Of the 24 fatalities, 14 were San Marcos residents and five were from Kyle.
