County Judge Ruben Becerra has called a special meeting of the commissioners court at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, to discuss the vacancy left by the resignation of Ray Helm.
"This is a very important meeting and I want to hear from the citizens, so I’ve included citizen comments to this meeting," Becerra posted on Facebook..

Helm resigned Friday under a deal with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement whereby if he would leave office and surrender his peace officer certification for life, he would avoid prosecution on charges including felony offenses.
