HCSO trying to reunite stolen property with owners

Authorities want to hear from anyone in Hays, Travis, Williamson, Comal, Caldwell or Guadalupe who had property stolen from rented storage facilities before May 29.

Timmie Foster Reed, 40, was arrested by the Hays County Sheriff’’s Office for burglaries at an Anytime Storage on Windy Hill Road in Kyle and United Storage on SH 123 in San Marcos. There was an active Hays County warrant for his arrest when he was arrested by Austin Police in mid-June.

“Reed admitted to numerous thefts in the Central Texas area,” said Deputy Bruce Harlan in a news release.

Property he is accused of stealing in Hays County included scrap metal, vehicle batteries, a “large TV” and aluminum. Some has already been returned, but other items remain to be claimed.

Anyone who thinks their property might be among what’s been recovered is urged to contact Detective Brian Wahlert, 512-393-7343, [email protected] to arrange a viewing.

Reed reportedly told investigators that addiction had forced him to steal.
