The Hays County Health Department reported one more COVID-related fatality today. A 40-year-old Buda man was hospitalized at the time of his death. Epidemiologist Eric Schneider reported 38 new lab-confirmed cases along with seven new hospitalizations, one hospital discharge and 53 now recovered.
“We encourage everyone to continue slowing the spread of the virus by hand washing, social distancing and wearing masks,” Schneider said. “The pandemic isn’t over and it’s not time to relax when it comes to safety.”
The county has a total of 5,050 lab-confirmed cases with 2,787 of those being active. The number of recovered individuals is 2,228. While Schneider is waiting on 52 tests for results, 22, 241 were found negative. In total, Hays County has had 124 hospitalizations with 20 individuals still hospitalized.
