KYLE – Authorities recovered a trove of evidence related to mail theft and fraudulent use of credit cards thanks to the sharp sight of a Kyle police officer who discovered a stolen motorcycle earlier this month.
Bryan Drake. 44, whose online records list a number of aliases, was taken into custody on Sept. 12. According to Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett, the officer ran the motorcycle’s license plate and learned it had been reported stolen in Dallas. After his arrest, Blake was found to be wanted on at least one Dallas County warrant.
Evidence recovered during an inventory of the motorcycle included a key to a room at the Quality Inn. A search warrant of the room turned up more evidence.
Drake was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and mail theft in addition to multiple counts of credit and/or debit card abuse and fraudulent use or possession of identifying information. He remained in Hays County Jail on Sept. 18 in lieu of bonds totaling $72,000.
