Update: The body of a missing tuber was found in the San Marcos River Sunday afternoon. The man had disappeared beneath the water Saturday afternoon.

Authorities continued their search on Sunday for a 29-year-old man who disappeared into the San Marcos River Saturday afternoon while tubing. A 3 p.m. caller said the man, identified as Jesse Austin Jr. of Fresno, had fallen out of a tube near Martindale and had not resurfaced within 10 minutes.
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office did not identify the outfitter the man had rented the tube from. Both Don’s Fish Camp and Texas State Tubes were open over the weekend.
The CCSO said “multiple agencies” participated in a search of the area Austin was last seen. The search was called off at 10 p.m. Saturday and resumed Sunday at 7 a.m.
