Like a moth to a flame, Buda’s Trail of Lights drew in a large crowd on the cold Saturday evening to watch the colorfully lit-up displays.
Businesses like A Snowball’s Chance, Dance Unlimited, HEB, Buda Gearheads and even the Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts posted their own uniquely fitting displays. Residents were ecstatic to get out of their homes to embrace the Christmas spirit; vehicles were lined up out of Historic Stagecoach Park and crowded into the street.
Despite the cold air, children were sticking their heads out of the vehicles, wholeheartedly shouting ‘Merry Christmas’ and waving. But the lights weren’t only geared towards children, even adults were having fun.
Buda’s efforts to give holiday cheer extended out of the park and onto Main Street. Trees were wrapped in lights, light poles had lit-up snowflake figures hanging off of them and holiday cheer sprinkled throughout the drive down the street.
Through these lights, it is easy to momentarily put aside the strife of the pandemic and enjoy the show.
