As the Biden/Harris campaign bus drove through Hays County on Interstate 35, Trump supporters rallied around the vehicle. One of the Trump-supporter trucks ran into a car driving behind the bus.
The Twitter-verse is flooded with commentary on who was at fault in the car-crash incident, which was recorded and posted on Twitter.
Aside from figuring out who was at fault in the accident, there has been a lot of confusion among the police departments in Hays County.
“From videos of the event that have now surfaced on social media, it appears that the vehicle contact actually occurred within San Marcos, Texas, prior to the campaign bus arriving in Kyle,” stated the Kyle Police Department. “All involved parties are being referred to the San Marcos Police Department should they desire to file any type of report with law enforcement.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation will look into the Trump supporters that surrounded and followed the Biden campaign, according to the Texas Tribune. Two of the Biden campaigns in Texas were cancelled due to the Trump rallies following them.
“The planning of this was questionable,” said Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler. He said that the campaign did not notify his office that they would be driving through Hays County and therefore could not prepare for potential confrontations.
