DRIPPING SPRINGS — Community donations can go a long way, especially during the holiday season. The Dripping Springs Visitors Bureau (DSVB) is requesting donations to help fund the Light Up Historic Mercer Street Campaign.

The DSVB has raised enough money for the last two years to decorate each building along Mercer Street with festive lights. Last year, the organization created a seasonal photo opportunity for guests in front of the Mazama Coffee Co. To keep the holiday spirit alive, the DSVB is hoping to raise $9,000 this year to hang the lights at each Mercer Street business, install the photo-op and displays.

The Light Up Mercer Street Campaign was implemented three years ago after receiving a grant from the Dripping Springs Community Foundation and donations from residents. The Visitors Bureau is grateful for the consistent support from local businesses and the community along the way.

While the pandemic has caused many people to refrain from large gatherings, the organization hopes the community can “donate to help spread hope, joy, and holiday spirit during these trying times” and “band together and bring a bit of beauty back to the world with a monetary contribution for holiday decorations,” according to the DSVB website.

Online contributions can be made, or drop checks by the Visitors Bureau, 509 Mercer Street or mail donations can be sent to to P.O. Box 206, Dripping Springs 78620.
