At approximately 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Hays County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a family violence disturbance call at the 200 block of Shale Circle in Buda. Responding deputies arrived and found a deceased male in the living room. Witnesses told deputies that the victim, identified as Darrell Thierry, 65, had an argument with his son, Damien Montague Roberts, 42. Both were visiting from out of town. During the argument, Roberts struck Thierry unconscious. Roberts then went to a bedroom where he retrieved a handgun. Roberts returned and shot Thierry multiple times. Deputies located Roberts and detained him at the residence. After Roberts was already in custody, he attempted to escape by trying to push through deputies. After a brief struggle, he was secured and placed in the patrol unit.
