DSHS senior selected in prestigious writing competition

Dripping Springs High School senior Lauren Sanders is one of 100 students selected to be published by the iWRITE Nonprofit Organization. Her entry was a poem called The Truth of the Stars.”

Each year, iWRITE offers students in Grades 3-12 the opportunity to submit short stories, poetry and artwork to its publishing contest called, I Write Short Stories by Kids for Kids. On Nov. 14, the iWRITE Literacy Organization will honor the newly published authors and illustrators during its 11th annual Virtual Book Signing Brunch (virtual) with a special guest appearance from Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey.


Through the years, iWRITE has published 730 student authors and illustrators from 11 different countries resulting in more than 11,000 anthologies that have gone to print. Founded in 2009, the iWRITE Non-Profit Organization builds student confidence through writing.
